Little Legs Day nursery

reading and learning

Little Legs Day Nursery offers a caring, child-centred environment where every child is encouraged to explore, grow and enjoy their early learning journey. Our qualified team supports children’s development through play, routines and positive relationships with families.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Little Legs Day Nursery fully recognises its duty to safeguard every child in our care.  Our Designated Safeguarding Leads — the nursery manager and deputy — should be notified of any concerns.  We work with relevant agencies to ensure risks are addressed promptly and professionally, and our policies set out how to respond when abuse is suspected and how to collaborate to protect children’s welfare.  We also ensure families have access to universal, targeted and specialist support where needed.

Our staff are fully qualified and paediatric first‑aid trained, giving parents peace of mind.  We provide large, bright and secure play areas, monitor and record each child’s progress, and offer nutritious meals cooked on site and breakfast and after‑school clubs.  Together, these measures create a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive.

All staff and volunteers understand their safeguarding duties and those of other agencies.  Through regular training, supervision and informal support, they promote effective inter‑agency working.  Our procedures are informed by national guidance such as Working Together to Safeguard Children and the Children Acts of 1989 and 2004, and they comply with the policies of our local safeguarding partnership.  We will continue to meet national and local standards and stay up to date with future changes.

Funding

Funded Childcare & Early Education

Government-funded early education is available to all families using Little Legs Day Nursery, with free hours provided through both universal and extended childcare offers.

All 3–4 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early education each week, regardless of family circumstances.

Eligible working families may also receive up to 30 funded hours, from the term after their child turns 9 months and continuing through to the start of school. These schemes help make high-quality early education more accessible and affordable for families.

If you’re unsure which funding your child may be entitled to, we’re happy to guide you through the process.
